The futuristic new SPACESHIP DISCOVERY Science and Technology Center is being created in the beautiful Mid-Hudson Valley of New York State. Many will recognize the name, but all will be amazed when they experience this fantastic new attraction several years from now.

This unique museum will offer a rare opportunity for lifelong learning. It will bridge the gap between book learning and real life experience. Families will be able to participate together in this wholesome, educational and interactive adventure while they learn about new and exciting dimensions in science.

A visit to our Science Center will encourage children to dream and inspire them to use their imaginations. Upon entering our world class facility, visitors will be invited to select a destination in the past, present, or future. The SPACESHIP DISCOVERY will transport them to the learning adventure of their choice.

While our main goal is to bring to life the hidden scientist in every child, our center will appeal to people of all ages. Our innovative exhibits exploring all areas of science and technology will spark imaginations and inspire a lifetime of learning for every individual. SPACESHIP DISCOVERY visitors will be engaged in interactive experiences that will open not only eyes but minds, and prepare them to discover the many wonders of science that surround them every day. We will celebrate diversity and enrich the lives of all those who come through our doors.

The premise behind the SPACESHIP DISCOVERY Science and Technology Center is that scientific and technical education requires that learners become involved, that they re-engage themselves in science by trying and applying their notions and ideas. The Center will provide this kind of support through its dual role as a physical facility and an intellectual environment. It will emphasize the core elements of scientific inquiry, which are observation and description that lead to explanation and understanding through a continual process of communal discussion. Science process skills, such as observation, description, explanation and understanding, are the dynamic driving forces behind scientific discovery and technological innovation. SPACESHIP DISCOVERY will be the place where children and their families learn by creating, testing, and revising.

The Future of SPACESHIP DISCOVERY

The new 120,000 square foot SPACESHIP DISCOVERY Science and Technology Center will house hands-on science exhibits, teachers’ programs, a café, science demonstrations, a gift shop, and theaters. Spaceship Discovery will inspire children of all ages as they learn about science and the world around them.

The SPACESHIP DISCOVERY Science and Technology Center will be built using the most advanced "green" technologies and materials available. We are committed to protecting and preserving our planet for all of its inhabitants today and in the future. By 2010 the unique Wonders of Science show will thrill 19,000 children, teachers, parents, and community members, including underprivileged children and hospitals for children dying of serious illnesses.
